Welcome to the BSHS Common Core Wiki!
Quality CC Content!
The Common Core Standards have been rife with controversy. Most people will agree that there are many redeeming qualities to the standards. Unfortunately, a perfect storm of high stakes testing, poorly designed "modules" and tying teachers' performance scores to standardized tests, have truly destroyed the proper implementation of any new curriculum. Many of us know elementary school children who hate school and even themselves. We are experimenting on our children at their expense.
Those who have maintained a focus on quality curriculum while supporting teachers and students will note that the Common Core stresses deep topic study, which can be met easily though Inquiry research projects. Your school librarian is primed to assist in this endeavor. This website is a curation of quality resources for you to use and share.
